Similar to all other mechanical parts a plug valve will last longer if maintained in the correct way. The maintenance requirement for a plug valve is lubrication. By spending the few minutes it takes to maintain a plug valve each year, you will have a valve which will last many times longer than if not maintained. The cost involved in having the correct maintenance on a valve is very small compared to replacing the valve. Maintenance save your money.

The frequency of lubrication depends amongst other things on frequency of valve operation, temperature of line media, is the line media abrasive etc. But as a general recommendation Serck Audco suggest the following lubrication frequency:

• For valves with infrequent operation and placed on non-abrasive gases or liquids: after 50 operations or minimum once a year.
• For valves with infrequent operation and placed on abrasive gases or liquids: after 25 operations or minimum twice a year.

If the above general recommendation proves to be inadequate please adjust the maintenance to reflect the need of the valve operating parameters.
